This Privacy Policy applies specifically to Sellers and Professionals who use the GoLocal mobile application, website, and associated tools and services (collectively referred to as the “Platform”) to list, promote, and deliver their products or services to Users.

In this policy, "GoLocal" (“we,” “our,” or “us”) refers to the operator responsible for the GoLocal Partners Platform, which is committed to protecting the privacy and data of all Platform users. This document explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information provided by Sellers and Professionals in connection with their activities on the Platform.

By registering and using GoLocal Partners as a Seller or Professional, you confirm that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age and legally authorized to operate a business or provide services in your jurisdiction. You consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. The terms “you” or “your” refer to the individual or business entity using the Platform for commercial purposes as a Seller or service provider.

GoLocal acts solely as a facilitator and intermediary between Sellers, Professionals, and Customers. All data processing activities are governed by this Policy and the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Platform operates.

1                    SCOPE OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY:

a)     The GoLocal Partners mobile application, dashboard, website, and any services, tools, or features designed specifically for Sellers and Professionals (collectively referred to as the “Platform” or “Services”).

b)     Individuals and business entities using the Platform to offer, list, promote, or manage the sale of goods or services to Customers.

c)      Any personal data provided to or collected by GoLocal in the course of registration, listing activity, order fulfillment, customer communication, account management, or support interactions.

1.2             Our handling of data may differ depending on specific legal requirements, operational needs, or the jurisdiction in which the Platform operates. This Policy is intended to provide transparency about our general data protection practices and to clarify your rights and responsibilities when using GoLocal Partners as a Seller or Professional.

GoLocal collects various types of personal, business, and technical data to support your experience as a Seller or Professional on the Platform. This section outlines the categories of data we may collect and the purposes for doing so.

2.1             Personal and Business Information:

We collect essential information such as your name, contact details, business name, business registration number (if applicable), bank/payment details, billing address, and identity verification documents. This enables us to create and manage your account, process transactions, and meet regulatory obligations.

2.2            Device and Technical Information:

To optimize platform performance and security, we automatically collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device model, time zone, and operating system. Location data may also be collected if enabled, to support regional features or services.

2.3            Platform Usage Data:

We monitor your interactions with the platform, including logins, feature usage, listing edits, and dashboard activity. This helps us personalize your experience, improve features, and provide performance insights.

2.4           Listings and Inventory Data:

We collect and store information about the products or services you list, including descriptions, categories, prices, availability, images, and listing history. This data enables visibility to Customers and helps facilitate marketplace functionality.

2.5            Transaction and Order Information:

When transactions occur, we collect order-related data such as items sold, order values, timestamps, and refund or dispute details. This ensures proper recordkeeping and resolution of any service issues.

2.6           Communication and Chat Data:

If you use in-app messaging, support chat, or communicate with Customers through the Platform, we collect the content of those messages This includes any personal information or transaction details relevant to customer support, dispute resolution, or to ensure compliance with our platform policies — including preventing attempts to bypass the app for direct transactions.

2.7            Support Interactions:

We collect communication data and support requests submitted by you through the available channels. This includes inquiries related to listings, account issues, delivery questions, or refund requests. This data is used to improve service quality and facilitate effective follow-up on requests.

2.8           Marketing and Promotional Data:

4.5            Performance Optimization:

We analyze listing behavior, order history, and feature usage to improve platform tools, enhance your experience, and resolve performance issues. This includes monitoring and fixing bugs or usability problems.

4.6           Data Security:

Your data helps us monitor platform activity, detect fraudulent behavior, prevent unauthorized access, and maintain a safe and secure environment for all users.

4.7            Communications:

c)      Highlighting user satisfaction ratings in search results or listings.

d)     Such metrics are derived from legitimate user input and platform activity.

5.5            Marketing and Promotional Use:

With your prior consent or where allowed by law, GoLocal may share limited Seller or Professional information with marketing service partners to inform you of new features, promotions, or advertising opportunities. You may opt out of marketing messages at any time via the unsubscribe links.

5.6            Analytics:

We may share aggregated, anonymized data with internal teams or third-party partners for insights, trend analysis, and service improvements. This information does not identify you personally and is used solely for strategic planning and feature optimization.

5.7            No Unrelated Data Sales:

GoLocal does not sell, lease, or trade your personal or business data to third parties for purposes unrelated to the provision of services on the Platform. Any data sharing outside the scope of this Policy will only occur with your explicit consent.

 

6                  DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY MEASURES:

At GoLocal, we are committed to protecting the personal and business data of Sellers and Professionals using our Platform. Our storage practices and security protocols are designed to comply with data protection regulations applicable in the jurisdiction in which the Platform operates.

6.1            Data Retention:

We retain your information only as long as necessary for operational, legal, and compliance purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. If your Seller account is terminated or you request deletion of your data, we will remove or anonymize the data unless retention is required by law, regulatory obligations, or to resolve ongoing disputes.

If a Seller or Professional requests account deletion, their profile and data will be marked for removal and hidden from the Platform. However, certain data may be securely retained for up to 7 days to allow for recovery, dispute resolution, or legal compliance, before permanent deletion occurs.

6.2           Storage Location and Transfers:

a)     Your data is stored on secure servers that follow industry-recognized privacy and cybersecurity standards.

b)     In some cases, data may be stored or processed outside your local jurisdiction. Any such transfers are managed in accordance with applicable data protection laws, with safeguards in place to maintain its integrity and confidentiality.

6.4           Limitations and Shared Responsibility:

a)     GoLocal’s Role: We strive to uphold high standards of data protection and will act promptly in the event of any confirmed data breach, including notifying affected users as required by applicable law.

b)     Sellers and Professionals are responsible for safeguarding access to their GoLocal accounts, mobile devices, and login credentials. You should:

                                      i.            Use secure registration credentials and device locks

                                   ii.            Avoid sharing access with unauthorized individuals

                                 iii.            Notify GoLocal immediately if you suspect unauthorized access, fraudulent activity, or account compromise

6.5            Exclusions from Liability:

GoLocal is not liable for data breaches or losses resulting from:

a)     Acts of third-party hacking beyond our reasonable control

b)     Negligence on the part of the Seller, such as failing to secure devices or account credentials

c)      Failures in external systems (e.g., mobile networks or cloud storage providers not controlled by GoLocal)

6.6           User Security Guidelines:

To maintain a secure environment on the Seller Platform, you agree to:

a)     Secure your account using available device protections and avoid unauthorized sharing

b)     Refrain from attempting to bypass or interfere with GoLocal’s technical safeguards

c)      Promptly report suspected security threats or account misuse to our support team

7                   YOUR RIGHTS:

GoLocal respects your rights in relation to the personal and business data you provide while using our Platform. As a registered Seller or Professional, you have several options for accessing, updating, or managing your information in accordance with applicable privacy regulations.

7.1             Access and Update Your Account Information:

You may access and edit your profile information at any time by logging into your GoLocal account. It is your responsibility to ensure that your contact, business, and payment details remain current and accurate.

7.2            Manage Promotional Communications:

You have the right to opt out of receiving promotional messages, marketing notifications, or non-essential updates. You can do so by:

a)     Clicking the “unsubscribe” link in marketing emails

b)     Once we receive your request, we will process it promptly. Please note that unsubscribing does not affect communications necessary for account operation or legal compliance.

8.3           Consent:

9                  CHILDREN’S PRIVACY:

9.1            The GoLocal Seller Platform is intended for use by individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years of age. We do not knowingly collect or process personal data from individuals under the age of 18.

9.2           If it is discovered that a Seller account has been created or accessed by a user under the age of 18, we reserve the right to suspend or delete the account and remove any associated data in accordance with our policies.

9.3           Parents or legal guardians who believe that a minor has submitted information to GoLocal

without authorization should contact us immediately at info@golocal-app.com so we can take appropriate action.

10             CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY:

10.1        GoLocal reserves the right to modify or update this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in our data practices, legal requirements, or service offerings.
